Are you hungry?

MindQuake is easily accessible by public transit from either San Francisco or Oakland Airport. Due to that and because MindQuake is in a public transit-rich area with lots of food options and the venue is completely self-contained.  There is a parking fee at the hotel, and we do not recommend you rent a car.

Maybe you are then asking where you can get food while you are attending MindQuake? Well, we are not a food desert! The closest option is the hotel restaurant. The hotel also has a snack shop with drinks, some sandwiches, and light snacks. In the parking lot of the hotel is a large gas station with a larger selection of drinks and snacks. In five to ten minutes walking distance are:

  • Black Bear Diner
  • Burger King
  • Chevy’s restaurant
  • Denny’s
  • P. F. Changs
  • Pizza My Heart
  • Starbucks
  • Togo’s Sandwiches
  • Waswan Indian Restaurant

…and an IKEA!  Have you ever had a Swedish meatball… while hypnotized?

There are many other options within walking distance, but we can’t do all of the work for you. (May we recommend Yelp?)

The hotel provides a free shuttle within a three-mile radius. There are too many restaurants to try and list, but if you like a certain food, we would again like to recommend Yelp. We can provide the following recommendations:

Homeroom https://homeroom510.com/

This is a macaroni and cheese place. They do have dairy-free and gluten-free options. They have delivery through a third-party service on their website, and a pickup area with parking at the door so you can just pull up, grab your food and get going. The portions are generous and it is exactly what you expect. Expect them to be busy.

Lanesplitter Pizza and Pub https://lanesplitterpizza.com/

They have Pizza and beer. ‘Nuff said. Delivery is available.

In addition, there are several unadventurous options that you’ll find from most American cities:

  • Carl’s Jr
  • Church’s Chicken
  • Jack in the Box
  • KFC
  • Little Caesar’s Pizza
  • McDonalds
  • Panera Bread
  • Subway
  • Taco Bell

As well as sushi, BBQ, pho, Italian, Chinese, Vietnamese, Mexican, vegan food and more within the hotel shuttle’s range.   We are also near Safeway, Trader Joe’s, and a Target if you need additional sundries or whatnot.

The BART (mass transit) is a mile away and is 1 stop from downtown Oakland and 4 stops from San Francisco, so it is easy to have an outing in either city if you desire.

The final option is delivery. Almost every place you can imagine has a delivery service, including McDonald’s. You will pay an additional price, which would make sharing a delivery order a good idea, but most places on Yelp have the delivery built into their website. You can also have food delivered by Postmates, Doordash, Grubhub, Caviar and more, but for ease of use we are recommending Yelp. A really helpful hint: you can order food from most of these places using the apps before you need them and schedule the delivery – i.e., place the order at 10:00 AM for delivery at 6:00 PM.
